YOUR STORY:
Well my name is Doug Carter, I’ve been singing for Pulse8 for about 9 years now. I’ve only been in about 4 real bands in my life. My first was called Beautiful Terror I helped form in 10th (grade) and a lot people couldn’t believe I was in a band because I was a shy AP student, that was only concerned with reading and studying, of which I still am...I read everything I can get my hands on. I went off to college for biology, but switched to a Psych. Major, because I got into a band called Simple Aggression, which got signed to Leviathan Records. We did many little EP’s and then an album on Leviathan called “Formulations in Black” which still can be heard in various programs on Spike TV, MTV2 and other ABC shows. From there I moved on to a band called Full Circle with my brother Brett and Pulse8 members Scott Mocahbee & Scott Amiott, also on Leviathan Records - basically, Full Circle and Simple Aggression just switched singers. Simple was moving to a more Soundgarden type of music, and I wanted to stay with the heavy groove.

Well, as time would have, everything kind of fell apart and I took a break for about year and half. I welcomed a son (Devlin) and eventually the original drummer called me up and asked if I would like to come check them out? I did because I always liked the songs Damon wrote and the rest, and a few band members later, as they say, is history. Very little has changed except we’ve gotten older, put over 1000 shows under our belt, I’ve welcomed a couple more kids (boy – Logan and a girl – Rayna) and I’ve started collecting reptiles again, all in all a good life. The last hurdle is to tour and hopefully I can complete that stage here soon.

WORST FEAR:
Losing my grandmother

FAVORITE BEVERAGE: Ice Cold Coke when singing, Budlite Lime and Diet Mountain Dew

BEST TOUR STORY: Never been on a full fledged tour, still waiting for that. But best out of town story is when we (Pulse8) were in Springfield, OH and my little brother was still alive and he was moshing around Perkins, while me and the guitarist Scott M. were busy putting bacon and sausage in everyone’s coats. There’s a lot, but that always sticks in my mind because my little brother was still alive. I guess that, and going to Germany in one of my previous bands. Europe was killer.
